Description

This is a "digital kit bash" of models of scanned retro space marine miniatures found on the internet.

The miniature is scaled to 35mm height to better fit in with modern day space marine miniature models. I added a base of the right size.

The model is cut to print with 0.2mm nozzle without the need of supports! You will need glue to assemble the final model.

This is one in a set of four models:

  • Retro WH40k Space Marine Sargent
which can be used as proxy for a “Captain in Gravis Armour”
  • Retro WH40k Space Marine with Sword
which can be used as proxy for a “Bladeguard Veteran”
  • ~~Retro WH40k Space Marine with Bolter~~
which can be used as proxy for a “Intercessor”
    • This was taken down and is no longer available.
    • Have a look at the “Alternative Weapon Pack” of the Marine with Flamer.
  • Retro WH40k Space Marine with Flamer
which can be used as proxy for a “Hellblaster”

If you print the models in the right quantities, you will get yourself a nice group of "Vengeful Brethren" proxies.

WH40k is awesome. If you like playing the game, please, do buy the original products. The games, the models, the worlds that GW are building are awesome, and they deserve to have you as their customer.

I was meaning to buy a 2nd edition space marine and display it for my own enjoyment, but this scratches the same itch. I scaled it up 200% and used a 0.4 nozzle (since i just aim to display it) and it turned out beautiful. I'm going in and cleaning it up because im a perfectionist, but honestly, it's not necessary.

I assume you downloaded the "Alternative Weapon and Helmet" profile. Then, yes, there is only a weapon and a helmet in the file. All other parts would be the same as in the main profile. When you mix both, you will get everything you need.

I gotta say, the way you cut these up turned out brilliant. I don’t know how you did the shoulder pads but they (and the helmet) really cover the gaps the torso has from a top down. It’d be great to see others.

I did load the full mesh into an editing software, created a cutting-shape out of multiple boxes. I then merged the cutting shape into a mesh of it's own. And, finally, I did mesh-booleans (intersection and difference), between the original model and the cutting mesh. Lot of work, but I am happy with the result.
