Description
30A 120VAC Relay Box/Enclosure for Safety
This is a very simple box/cover that provides some additional security against potential contact with high voltage that the relay module is switching on/off.
This fits a couple of generic Amazon listings for 5VDC/120VAC relays, that all have one thing in common, they use the a Songle 30 amp relay.
These are also available in other voltages, so if you want to switch it with 12V or 24V those are also available.
Filament for fire safety
Due to this case containing a relay that switches 120VAC, and for failures to potentially include fire, I would highly recommend printing this box using a UL94 V0 certified filament. Bambulab sells a PC FR filament that would work great. There are also a variety of manufacturers that make ABS FR, PETG FR, and even PLA FR. I have printed this out of Fiberlogy PET-G V0.
Assembly
To assemble place the relay into the bottom part of the box, and use 4 M3 4mm long screws to hold it in place securely. Install the low power and high power leads, bending them as necessary to have them come out near the bottom of the cutout.
Then click the top part of the box into place. The finger grips show where to grip the top-cover to be able to remove it to gain access to the internals again.
