Dog Pool Pump Weight Basket

If you have dogs and a kiddie pool, and they love splashing in the water, but you hate cleaning it out all the time or it getting infested with mosquitos. Then you should buy a pond or aquarium water filter pump! 

But wait, those usually have suction cups to the bottom to keep them in place. Those rowdy pups will splash so much that it loses suction and floats to the top. 

Bummer, now your pump isn't filtering, your pool is dirty and the suction cups no longer stick to the floor. 

Well I have the solution for you! My pool pump weight basket is designed to fit around a specific water pump from Amazon. You could adjust the size of the basket to roughly fit around other pumps though.

Assembly:

1. Assemble the two locking arms to the basket using the printed bolt and nut. My original design required my to sand the bolt down a bit to fit snug, but this design is a little smaller to accommodate the inconsistencies with printing the bolt horizontally.
2. Place the basket on your pump and lock the arms in place with the clip-in feature. I haven't tried unlocking it yet, but probably need to use needle nose pliers.
3. Then just throw some river stone or other heavy dog safe item in the basket and you're good to go!

FYSA: my filter pump has a UV light to kill most of the bacteria and I add a small amount of pet-safe algae control solution, so this weight basket and pump combo is not intended to replace regular cleanings of your pool.
