Description

Calibration Plate for Ironing Optimization on Bambu Labs 3D Printers

2025-10-29     Added a second plate with the range 10-30% flow.

Achieving perfect surface finishes in 3D printing often comes down to well-tuned ironing settings. To simplify and professionalize this process, I’ve designed a dedicated calibration plate that allows you to fine-tune ironing performance on Bambu Labs printers.

What the Plate Tests

  • Speed Range: 20 – 60 mm/s
  • Flow Range: plate 1: 5 – 25%, plate 2: 10-30%

This systematic variation helps you identify the sweet spot for your specific filament and printer setup.

Why Use It?

  • Essential for achieving smooth, polished top layers without visible lines.
  • Saves time compared to trial-and-error testing.
  • Works with a variety of filaments.

Print Details

  • Duration: ~1 hour 17 minutes
  • Material Usage: ~30 g filament

Key Benefits

  • Professional-grade ironing results
  • Consistency across different prints and filaments
  • Easy, repeatable, and visually clear comparison of settings

If you want truly beautiful 3D printed surfaces, this calibration plate is a must-have tool.
