Hephaistos Hammer – 3D Assembly Puzzle (8 pieces)
📖 Description (EN)
⚡️ Here’s a brand-new 3D printable puzzle: Hephaistos hammer reimagined as an assembly challenge.
🔨 I designed this model entirely in Fusion 360, inspired by a creation from Stephan Baumegger (2013). The result: an object that’s fun to solve, intriguing to explore, and beautiful to display.
The goal: assemble the 8 pieces correctly to form the complete hammer. Easy to understand, but devilishly tricky to solve. Each piece was carefully designed so the build requires observation, logic, and a touch of patience.
👉 Printed in 2 plates:
- Plate 1: the handle.
- Plate 2: the 7 other pieces forming the hammer’s head.
👉 Recommended filaments:
- Handle: Bambu PLA Matte Latte Brown (natural wood-like look, perfect for the grip).
- Hammer head: Bambu PLA Basic Silver (a clean, metallic finish).
⚠️ I don’t recommend wood or silk filaments: they often print slightly oversized, which can make the assembly too tight and less enjoyable.
👉 Practical notes:
- No glue required.
- Prints without support.
- Can be rescaled as long as proportions are preserved.
💡 Difficulty: This puzzle is fairly tough! But once you find the right sequence, the satisfaction is huge. And beyond the challenge, you’ll have a striking display piece that always catches the eye.
📎 Included: an assembly/disassembly diagram.
🎥 Coming soon (maybe): step-by-step videos to guide the bravest solvers.
