Description

I needed a way to keep my long macro lens steady on a focusing rail. The setup was front-heavy and wobbled, so I designed a simple printed support foot.

Instead of hand-modeling the thread, I ended up writing a parametric screw + insert generator in Python (using build123d). That script takes diameter, pitch, and tolerance values, and spits out printable geometry that actually works with real-world plastics. The foot here is just one example—the screw and insert were both generated automatically.
