DESHROUD MOD XFX RX7800XT SWIFT ( 2x120mm fan)

This is a custom 3D-printed deshroud modification for the XFX Swift RX 7800 XT, engineered to deliver substantial thermal and acoustic improvements over the stock cooling solution. By removing the restrictive OEM shroud and enabling the mounting of two high-performance 120 mm fans, the mod leverages standard case fan technology—providing higher static pressure, greater airflow volume, and superior acoustic efficiency compared to the factory GPU fans.

The bracket is precision-designed to optimize airflow dynamics: the fans are aligned to push air directly through the fin stack, while maintaining a calculated clearance between the fans and heatsink to reduce boundary layer turbulence and prevent tonal resonance or whine. This ensures laminar airflow across the heatpipes and fins, improving heat transfer efficiency and minimizing noise.

In stress testing, the modification resulted in a hotspot temperature reduction of up to 15 °C, stabilizing around 80 °C under load, while the GPU core temperature also decreased by up to 15 °C. These improvements allow the GPU to sustain higher boost clocks with reduced thermal throttling, while simultaneously lowering overall acoustic output.
