Description
Topic: Huawei 6-bay (2.5"*2 + 3.5"*4) Disk Enclosure NAS Feiniu Hackintosh Synology
Needs: Home 4K movie playback, mobile phone and computer data backup, remote data sharing, and software routing. Therefore, I wanted to design a compact and feature-rich chassis myself, and I encountered many pitfalls during the process of setting up NAS:
- Branded NAS is too expensive and has low customizability.
- Most chassis on the market have insufficient drive bays, mostly 2-4 bays for 3.5-inch drives, with no extra space for SSDs, and all-flash drives are too expensive.
- Too bulky, occupying too much space.
- The selected motherboard has excessive power consumption and mediocre performance.
Solution:
Budget controlled within 1200 yuan.
Motherboard selection 10cm*10cm,
Processor: intel N95, N100, N150
Memory: 8-16GB
Hard drives: System drive 32GB*1; Cache 256GB*2 NVME to 2.5 inch; Data drives 3.5 inch*4
Network: 2.5GE*2 ports
The HDD backplane must start synchronously, to prevent hard drives from running after shutdown and being damaged
One motherboard cooler, one hard drive cooler
