Description

Made this 140mm fan mount for my sim racing rig's wind simulation. It can be used pretty universally though.

For the blower/shroud I used this model by Fisz and it really completed the design.

Used a 40mm M4 screw and nut for the hinge to tighten and lock it in place. Nut should be pressed in to make for easy adjustment.

Question: Can the fan once mounted this way, on either the right or left side of an extrusion, be rotated up and down or is it fixed in that it can only be moved side to side / left and right once it is mounted to the two t-nuts on the rig's extrusion? I take it that the former is a fixed position but can still be moved left and right with the hinge (and only the t-nuts can be slide up or down to make up for how you need the height of the fan to be positioned, if you have that much room to manuever the t-nut that is). Thanks for the make!

From the hinge it can only be moved left to right, adjust vertical height with the t-nuts on the aluminum extrusion. Are you intersted in a version that would allow more rotational adjustments?

yes, a version that would allow more rotational adjustments would be great to have!

im going to give it a try this weekend and let you know, i don't have an extrusion as i'm on playseat trophy, it's pipe design. i have a quick qeustion, was there a reason why you chose, Fizs over the other design here? they look very similar and I'm not sure about the difference between other 140mm amplifier, they all look the same with 4 outlets for the wind

Thanks for giving the model a try. No specific reason I chose the amplifier by Fizs, I just thought it looked good, and it does work, Although I can't tell the difference in airflow between that and a regular cone design. Feel free to make any suggestions about how this could work better for your playseat trophy, I don't mind making some alterative versions.
