Description

This is a MagicShine MJ-6508 remote control holder. It will likely work with MJ-6396 too as these remotes seem to have the same shape and dimensions.

You will find other remote holders for the same remotes that are lower-profile than the one here, but these wouldn't work for me as they secure the remote through the plastic loops that the original strap uses to secure the remote on the handlebar (see green arrow in the picture below). The problem is that one of these plastic loops on my remote broke (see red arrow in the picture below), and I would either have to buy a new remote as I couldn't secure it on the handlerbar anymore, or become creative. I chose the latter :)

Of course, nothing prevents you from using this holder with a non-broken remote like mine, and I also do so, as I have two of those remotes for different bikes and one is not broken.

At the bottom of the holder, there is a pocket that fits the original rubber piece that comes with the remote and prevents the holder from sliding around your handlebar. The remote holder also has a pipe for securing it on your bike's handlebar by either using the original strap that comes with the remote, or a cable tie:

The remote slides in smoothly from the side of the holder (see first picture below), and once it's in, you should press it down gently until it snaps in place and the “holding-towers” hold it securely in place (see second picture below).

Hope you find this model useful!
