Description

Wanted to see if I could come up with something for the Pill Organizer model contest. Was a lot of fun to make. This is a Days of the Week pill dispenser. You'll need seven small rubber bands for the spring back mechanism. I used some rubber band hair ties my wife had laying around, but I'm sure most any small rubber band would do. Only other thing you need to do is super glue the “Day Back” piece the the back of the days of the week blocks. This just helps them so that they won't fall out of the front.

This was a lot of fun to make and I hope someone likes it and can get some use out of it. Enjoy!

Im having issues with this print. It seems like it is printing black filament and then the gray/silver on top of that instead of only silver on the bottom layer. I am using 3 layers for top/bottom/walls. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Did you try the AMS print profile? Don't see that on the profile. It looks like the black over the silver is just supports though. If you use an x-acto knife I bet you can pretty easily remove the black lines.

I don't know what you mean by AMS print profile. It does look like it's printing support material in there. I'm going to try it without support in the letters. I feel like this would make more sense if the letters were flat on the bottom, not pressed in on the model.

See attached pic. That is a print profile for use with an AMS. The letters are recessed because not everyone has an AMS and that way they can still read the days of the week while using a single color.

I don’t use this for pills, I use it for dice to “Gamify” my weekly studies to change career fields. If I study, my daughter gets to roll the dice for that day. If I don’t, she doesn’t. I missed one day cause I was tired/unmotivated, she was sad, and haven’t missed since. I LOVE this print so much. looks great on my desk. I do have to re-print the lid since I pulled it off while it was warm and that action made it warp, but that wasn’t this file’s fault. it was my own excitement.

Great model! Love it! I made one modification to mine because I was having trouble getting the pills out into my hand without tipping the whole unit upside down. I added a small tray to the bottom to lift out to retrieve that day’s pills.

I'm having the same issue, would it be possible for you to post the modification here?

What an awesome design! Would be great if no rubber bands needed to be used and elements use "peg-hole" concept to connect. Otherwise well deserved 5 stars!!!

As I mentioned in separate comment, I had larger pills getting stuck at the bottom because there was a small ledge in the main body, and the pill opening on the plunger was another step down in size. To address that I created a "shim" that snugly fits down inside (all of mine stay put w/o glue) that covers the two tiers of ledges (the silver main body side walls and then the sides of the pill opening on the plungers. Problem solved. I can't believe I'm the first person to run into this.

I published the shims I created linked as a remix to this posting, but they can be found directly here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/178349#profileId-196229

I'm running into an issue where larger pills are getting stuck when I push the buttons. Upon a detailed look, it looks like the holes on the "push button" pieces are smaller than the hole that holds the pills. In that scenario the pills are getting stuck on the lip of the buttons. Could you possibly create angled shims for the left and right sides of the pill repository areas that change the exit hole of the pill repository to be at least the same size (if not smaller) than the push button openings? I'm thinking those pieces could be inserted and glued in place on the left and right hand sides of existing prints to act like a funnel into the smaller hole at the bottom. Am I making sense here? I can visualize in my head what I'm talking about, but I am not good enough with CAD to design it myself.
