Summary

Want a scale model of the first ever production air to air missile?  This is a 1:8 scale model of the famous AIM-9B Sidewinder invented by the US after WWII and put into production in the 1950s.  It continued to be updated and is still used today as the AIM-9X.  The model takes seconds to assemble and comes in different paint jobs to choose from: US Navy, US Air Force, NATO, and others.

What is an AIM-9B? The AIM-9B was the first production model of the Sidewinder, a supersonic, heat-seeking air-to-air missile that entered service in the mid-1950s. Its passive infrared guidance system was limited to tracking the hot exhaust of enemy jets, which meant it was only effective for tail-chase attacks at close range and could be easily countered by flares, the sun, or sharp maneuvers.

If you enjoy my work and would like to help support my ability to share more (and even better) models in the future, please consider boosting or buying me a coffee at the link below.   Your support is what helps me have enough filament and supplies to do all the print testing required for my models to be high quality and easy to assemble.  It takes a mountain of test prints for each model. Thanks :-)

Here's a link to my Buy Me a Coffee page, thanks for the support!
