Due to their unique wide-bottom design, narrowboatscan travel stably even in shallow waters, making them ideal for use on British rivers. Over time, narrowboatsgradually transformed from transport vessels into recreational boats. Today, many narrowboatshave been converted into private yachts, restaurants, or B&Bs, becoming a beautiful landscape feature of the British countryside.
