The coin depicts Hecate, the ancient Greek goddess of witchcraft, the moon, and crossroads, with several symbolic elements that represent her powers and associations:

  • Snake: The snake coiled around her shoulders symbolizes secret wisdom, rebirth, and the eternal cycle.
  • Flaming Skull Torch: In one hand, Hecate holds a flaming skull torch, which represents her role as a guide in the darkness and her connection to the underworld and magic.
  • Gilded Key: In her other hand, she holds a gilded key, signifying her power to unlock the boundaries between worlds, including the realms of the living and the dead, and to reveal hidden knowledge.
  • Dog: Hecate is accompanied by a dog, which is one of her sacred animals and often associated with her role as a goddess of crossroads and the night.
  • Moon: The presence of the moon in the background further emphasizes her connection to lunar cycles and nocturnal magic.
  • Antique Finish and High Relief: The coin's antique finish and high relief design contribute to its mythological aesthetic, enhancing the visual representation of the goddess.
