Happy Printing. If you love your print, I'd be honored with a boost.

The Rocket Strap Turbo Edition! (TE125v1)

  • All mechanical parts print in place
  • Has 2.1 to 1 gearing for faster winding.
  • Use Normal Support Auto with support set to “Build Plate Only.”  Through testing, I’ve found that standard supports actually work better for this model and do not require a support interface for reliable results. In most cases, the supports can be completely removed in under a minute once you get started.
    • Support removal may still take a little patience the first time. I’ve noticed that printing with the door open for additional cooling can make the supports break away more easily. Even without an interface layer, removal is typically quick and clean.
    • This orientation appears to provide the best balance of durability, print quality, and support reliability. Hopefully, as slicers and printers continue to improve, support generation and removal will become even more user-friendly.
    • Optional: You can still use an alternate support interface if desired. I’ve successfully used PLA support interfaces for PETG prints, as well as Bambu PETG Support filament using the included Bambu profiles. These methods can make support removal easier, but they also add significant print time and complexity. At this time, I do not believe an interface layer is necessary for normal use of this model.
    • If I develop a custom support interface or improved removable support solution in the future, I will update the model accordingly.
  • Robust Design: The design orientation in the horizontal position makes for much stronger cylinder-shaped mechanical parts. It prints as one piece. This design means there are no connection points which, in my opinion would be significant weak areas.
  • Prints in nine hours
  • No power tools required
  • Notched in handle for rubber band keeper storage
  • Great gift for dads
  • More version in work: including a 2 inch strap version and a "hands" free version.

Other Info:

  • The Gears are 2.1 to 1 because in mechanical engineering you should avoid a gear that is 2 to 1 because it will wear on the same teeth for every revolution (This likely doesn't matter for this plastic tool but, for good practice, that is the way I designed it)
  • Why not even more ratio? because the higher you go the more difficult it can be to operate as it takes more force to spin the gears. Also the more force the more likely hood of breaking its mechanisms.
