Description

My first attempt at a glider, it has its quirks and will need further development, but with some CG changes once printed, it is a very capable soarer. This is the first Version, expect more to come in the next months.

The current version has a 1200mm wingspan and a custom internal support structure that keeps it both light and strong. It’s designed to be printable even in PLA, making it accessible without needing specialized materials.

Assembly:

  1. After printing the pieces, take a blade to the foot of each part, cutting away the larger edge that is printed.
  2. Create a small bead of glue around the outer edge, and support structures, and hold firmly together.
  3. Wipe away excess glue and let sit for ~10 minutes.
  4. Find CG and add weight to the front as necessary.

           - In some cases it may be necessary to sand down faces, wing segments have a tendency to warp a small amount at the ends.

The goal of this project is to create a glider that helps prospective RC hobbyists take their first step into the world of planes and 3D-printed designs. With minimal extras required—just a printer, some filament, and a bit of superglue—you’ll be ready to enjoy some fun flights.

Feedback is more than welcome—I’d love to hear your thoughts as I keep developing this design!

Enjoy!

Could use some connectors to strengthen the joints. It printed well and flew with about 8 pennies taped to the nose. We ended up breaking it pretty quickly and gave up on it after a few repairs. Might be a good project to add servis and control surfaces to this.

Hey, sorry I didnt see this sooner! I found that medium CA Glue works best. I'd recommend the brand BSI.
