Description
Trax (Strategic Board Game)
This is my interpretation of the strategy and tile-laying game “Trax”. It is a game for 2 players. 64 identical game pieces are needed. The game instructions and description can be found in many places on the internet, for example on Wikipedia.
There are already other interpretations of this game for 3D printing. However, what always bothered me about these was that the colored patterns on the surfaces are several layers thick, requiring many filament changes that produce waste.
The special feature of my design is that the colored patterns are only one layer thick, and therefore filament changes are only needed in the first and last layer. The colored patterns are merged as objects. This allows the colors to be changed very easily if needed.
The print profile contains only one game piece, which must be printed 64 times (after possible color adjustments). P1/X1 printers can do this in one print job.
I chose a smooth print bed and ironed the surface, so both sides have a similar visual impression.
Printing
- If desired: Adjust colors in BambuLab Studio under “Objects” (right-click on colored object, then “Change filament…”)
- Duplicate: right-click on game piece “Fill bed with copies”
- Delete excess pieces. 64 pieces are needed to play.
- The layer thicknesses are dimensioned such that the top and bottom color layers are exactly one layer thick. Therefore, do not change the set layer height of 0.28 mm!
Have fun with the strategic game “Trax”!
