🦴 Realistic White-Tail Deer Bone Study: SC Series
Nature’s Geometry: High-Detail Scans for Study & Art
Model Description
This collection features ultra-realistic 3D scans of a female White-Tail Deer (Odocoileus virginianus) from the coastal marshes and mountain forests of South Carolina. Using a Revopoint Pop3 Digital Scanner, I have captured the intricate organic textures of these specimens to honor the animal and provide a permanent digital record for the maker community.
The collection includes:
- The Skull: Provided in two versions (Natural with the original trauma/hole, and a Repaired "Closed" version).
- Cervical Vertebrae: Individual Neck Bones (C3 through C6) plus the Atlas.
- Articulated Sections: Full Neck Bone assembly and Lower Spine (L1-L6) as single pieces.
- Lower Spine Parts: Individual segments (L1, L2, and L3).
- Structural Bones: Shoulder Blade (Scapula), Humerus, Femur, and the Sacrum.
- Details: Lower Jaw/Mandible, a single Antler/Horn, and a highly detailed Tooth.
- Hips: Two distinct back hip sets from different animals for comparison.
Functional Use & History
These bones were ethically sourced in South Carolina, where the White-Tail deer is a cornerstone of our local ecosystem. While these scans are nearly perfect, they represent the raw beauty of nature.
How to use them:
- Educational: Perfect for biology classrooms, STEM programs, and veterinary students to study anatomy without the fragility of real bone.
- Artistic: Use these as reference for digital sculpting or as physical props for still-life photography.
- Customization: I recommend importing these into Meshmixer or Fusion360 for fine-tuning, smoothing, or adding mounting points.
Cosplay & Remix Potential
These models are a goldmine for the cosplay community. Whether you are building a druid staff, trophy armor for a hunter character, or a post-apocalyptic wasteland outfit, these bones provide the "real feel" that hand-sculpted models lack.
Keywords for Remixing: Wendigo Mask, Druid Staff, Shamanic Headdress, Bone Armor, Primal Props, Taxidermy Alternative, Biological Reference.
Scaling & Prep Resources: If you are using these for armor or need to scale them to fit a specific body part, check out my guide on How to size, scale, cut, pin and orient models in Bambu Studio: https://youtu.be/Ckvo10JxrcEg
