Description

I came across to author “BK” published a model called “3D Relief ‘Astronaut in Action’”  and I immediately fell love with it. And I think it's a cool idea to transfer it into a true 3D model that I can print it out.

So I used the Bambu lab's 2D to 3D tool to generate a model, and used Zbrush to make it more suitable to put a frame around it.

What I did:

  1. use BK's photo and Bambu website to generate a rough model. (Interestingly it gave me a 6 finger model)
  2. Use Zbrush to squash the body flatter but keep the head, hands and front gears untouched.
  3. Do heavy touch up in Zbrush to eliminate support as much as I do.
  4. Add some details  like NASA logo, and details on both sides of the helmet and shoulder areas.
  5. fix weird AI model details and add life-like details.
  6. Add frame and thicked the backing based on my test prints.

Recommend using the PLA matte white.

Hope you like it!
