Description

Summary
Slide-in clip case for the iPod Classic 5th/5.5th gen (thin). No screws, no disassembly. A 20 mm TPU disc sits in the base as a soft stop to add friction so the iPod doesn’t creep out—but the case also works without the disc if you prefer a pure hard-shell fit.

Features

  • Single-piece shell with low-profile clip
  • 20 mm TPU stop disc for extra friction (optional to use)
  • Access to headphone jack and hold switch
  • Small face lip for light front protection
  • Design exercise / proof-of-concept

Assembly

  1. Press-fit the TPU disc into the round pocket if you’re using it.
  2. Slide the iPod in from the top until it seats and the rails catch.
  3. To remove, flex the top lip outward to release the rails and lift the iPod out.

Print Settings

  • Material: PETG or ABS recommended. PLA is too stiff/brittle; PLA+ works.
  • Layer height: 0.2 mm
  • Walls: 4 perimeters
  • Infill: 20–30%
  • Orientation: standing up
  • Supports: yes, everywhere (keep rail interiors clean after printing)
  • TPU disc: 95A or similar, 0.2–0.3 mm layers, high infill

Bill of Materials

  • 1 × rigid shell (this file)
  • 1 × TPU disc (standard or thick)

Notes

  • Compatibility: designed for 5G/5.5G thin. With the thicker disc, it theoretically fits 6G/7G thin, but that fit has not been validated yet. Not for the 6G 160 GB fat model.
  • Personal use only. Commercial use or resale is not allowed.
