Description

Govee Icicle lights are a great addition to any holiday display, however I've found them to be easily windswept and to not hang as straight as I would like. My solution was to add some additional weight to keep them in place.

I designed these weights to clamp down on the strands without damaging them to prevent them from winding up on top of my garage after a slight breeze. They use two M3 x 10mm socket head screws and two M3 nuts to clamp down, while adding some additional weight. I've printed mine at 100% infill, again, to add weight. I printed in clear Polymaker PETG and they come in at 6 grams total with the hardware.

I've included two print profiles, one is a slow print to keep the PETG relatively transparent, the other is meant to speed up the print time but wont appear as clear. In hindsight any color PETG would have likely sufficed as they are barely noticeable at a distance.

Bambu transparent clear PETG would work great for this application, or alternatively white or black PETG HF.

For a 32 ft strand 80 weights will be needed in total. Each print profile I've uploaded includes 40 sets.

Materials needed:

-PETG of choice

- 160 Stainless M3x10mm socket head screws

- 160 Stainless M3 nuts
