Description

One thing I noticed after buying Ikea Livboj charger is that not all mobile phone cases (and mobile phones) will work with this charger and here is why.

  • Weak charging power - Livboj isn't the strongest wireless charger thus any extra space between the charger and mobile phone can cause charging to stop after a few minutes or not even start at all
  • The bulky size – Because Livboj is relatively thick, phones with raised camera bumps add even more distance between the coil and the battery, leading (again) to interrupted charging.

My (not)Boring design solves this problem by removing the bulky outer shell of the Livboj charger
Oh and.. it looks super cool

Design

3 versions available

  • Samsung Galaxy S25 PLUS version – perfect fit, designed for mobile in case
  • Samsung Galaxy S25 version – perfect fit, designed for mobile in case
  • Universal version – works with all devices, though most phones (with raised cameras) will wobble slightly. Charging performance is still identical.

In the future, I may design a universal model with a cut-out for camera islands.

Parts

  • Plate – Exists so the underside of the Livboj’s circuit board can be printed in a different color.
    • Models with an integrated plate are called “Basic.”
  • Pin – Matches the black ferrite plate of the Livboj.
  • Anti-skids – Mine are 10 mm in diameter, with 10.5 mm slots.
    • If yours are larger, message me—I can make a version with bigger slots.

S25 /S25 Plus pieces:

  • Cameras, Switch, Light – print in any color combination you like.

Disassembly of Ikea Livboj

  • Remove the anti-skid rubbers on the bottom
  • Unscrew the 3 screws
  • Open the case (a thin knife helps)
  • That's it !

IMPORTANT !

  • Do not remove the black ferrite plate glued to the copper coil. The charger won’t work without it.
  • Handle gently—it’s fragile and may crack. Cracks don’t affect charging, only appearance.
  • Keep the factory adhesive on the ferrite plate—it’s what secures the coil to your new printed model.

Assembly

  1. Print your parts.
  2. Degrease with alcohol.
  3. Glue the LDC_Plate to the LDC_Base (skip if using the Basic version).
  4. Plug in the USB-C cable to the circuit board (helps align it).
  5. Apply a small amount of strong glue to the Livboj circuit board.
  6. Place the board gently, aligning the USB-C cutout.
  7. Attach the coil (it already has factory adhesive).
  8. Wait for glue to cure.
  9. Glue on the remaining parts.
  10. Attach the anti-skids.
    Done!

Important notes

You may need to use soldering iron to prolong 2 coil wires that are soldered to circuit board. Depending how factory soldered your Ikea Livboj, coil wires may be longer or shorter.

Option 1

Unsolder wires and solder them again on theirs ends. This will extend wires and thus circuit board could be glued flat on model surface

Option 2

Apply more glue to the side of circuit board where wires are soldered. If wires are short that side will be a little bit lifted above model surface. The additional glue will fill the additional space

Print profile

My .3mf file uses variable layer height, so the top curves are smooth (not jagged). Highly recommend using it.

Infill: 15% Gyroid
Outer Wall Speed: 80mm/s
Supports: custom for anti-skids cut outs

Printed on: Bambu Lab A1 Mini
Filament 1&2: Bambu PLA Sparkle Alpine Green & Royal Purple
Filament 3: Prusa Galaxy Black
