Dart Cases & Covers

Simplified the profiles down to two Darts Case sizes which should cover the majority of setups 

Description

This dart case has been designed from scratch to provide a compact, reliable solution for storing and transporting darts. The design is inspired by a traditional wooden dart case, with a focus on minimizing overall size while maintaining functionality.

To simplify the printing process, the files have been streamlined into clear and easy-to-use profiles.

Available Versions

Two dart case sizes are included:

• 175 mm version – accommodates darts up to 175 mm in length (180mm total case height)
• 195 mm version – accommodates darts up to 195 mm in length (200mm total case height)

Measurements are taken from the end of the flight to the tip of the dart point.

*The flight channels on the 195mm Case are longer so that shorter darts can still be used in them without 

the flights bing dislodged when inserted

Both versions are included in the provided files.

Dart Case Covers

The dart case covers are provided in a separate profile and are available in three thickness options:

• 0 mm – no reduction in internal space; least rigid
• 2 mm – balanced option between strength and internal clearance
• 5 mm – maximum strength; reduces internal length by 5 mm

Please note: thicker covers reduce the available internal space.
For example, using a 5 mm cover on the 195 mm case results in 190 mm of usable internal length.

Printing Recommendations

• Compatible materials tested: PLA, PLA+, and PLA Silk
• Suitable for both single-colour and multi-colour printing
• .3mf files setup for PLA printing
• 3x Walls for Darts Cases  
• 2x walls for Darts Case Covers
• Recommended infill:
  • Case: 15%
  • Cover: 40%

Higher infill percentages can be used for increased strength and weight if desired.

The cover features a snap-fit design. Initial fitment may be tight, but it will ease slightly after repeated use. Alignment arrows are included on both the case and cover to ensure correct assembly.

Notes on Fitment

Depending on dart barrel thickness and flight shape, darts may occasionally catch slightly during insertion. If this occurs, insert the center dart first, followed by the outer darts.

This behaviour is consistent with similar compact dart case designs and does not affect the majority of setups. Increasing the spacing between slots would eliminate this issue but would require a larger overall case size, which has been intentionally avoided to maintain a compact form factor.

Customisation

The cover models are provided as blank surfaces within the 3MF files, allowing users to easily add custom text, logos, or designs within their slicer software.
