Description
I, and others in my family have piercings.
It's always been awkward holding onto and aligning the bar end balls to thread them onto the bars. As I get older it seems to get worse.
I'm fed up of dropping them and then spending forever trying to find them again. The small 3mm ones are especially annoying.
I've given in and made a clamp to hold my balls (sorry there's only so long I can avoid the jokes)
It securely holds the ball and makes threading it onto the bar easy. Another advantage is that it holds the ball tighter than I could using my fingers alone so allows it to be tightened on more firmly or makes for easier removal.
To use just put the clamp onto the ball (thread aligned out of the end) and slide the locking collar up from the opposite end. It is easiest to do if the ball is on a bar to start with. This will firmly clamp the ball and make it MUCH easier to hold onto. Unscrew the ball using the clamp, insert jewellery and screw the ball back on again. To remove the clamp slide the locking collar back and ithe clamp will let go. For straight bars it might be easier with a clamp at each end.
I've added print profiles for 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, and 6mm balls.
I didn't make versions for larger balls as they are not so fiddley. That said if you would like a particular size feel free to ask and I'll see what I can do.
