Description
Bolt Handles
I’ve designed a full set of 3D-printed bolt handles to make working with small fasteners easier and more comfortable. The collection includes both hex-head and Allen-socket head variants, covering a wide range of standard bolt sizes.
Supported Sizes
- Hex-head bolts: M3, M4, M5, M6, M8, M10, M12
- Allen-socket bolts: M3, M4, M5
Features
- Hex-head handles
- Designed as a press-fit onto the bolt head.
- A snug fit ensures the handle locks into place.
- For best long-term use, it’s recommended to apply a small amount of glue after fitting.
- Allen-socket handles
- Designed to self-thread as the bolt is screwed in.
- The handle grips securely around the socket head.
- A glued lid is recommended to fully lock the bolt in place.
Benefits
- Makes small bolts easier to grip and turn by hand.
- Great for quick adjustments, prototyping, and tool-free assembly.
- Lightweight, durable, and reusable.
Assembly Notes
- Insert the correct bolt size into the printed handle.
- Ensure it seats firmly (press-fit for hex, self-thread for Allen).
- For the most reliable hold, apply a drop of superglue or epoxy before attaching the lid (Allen) or after pressing in (hex).
These models should not be scaled, as scaling will create unnatural gaps within the handle that can result in a loose or unreliable fit.
