Description
The Nordic Orb is a ceiling lamp designed around the IKEA TRÅDFRI LED bulb (E27, 125 mm diameter, 174 mm long). The oversized bulb extends below the shade, creating a bold and sculptural silhouette that feels both modern and timeless. The lamp is all about celebrating the glowing orb as the centerpiece.
To customize the look, I’ve designed several interchangeable diffusers:
- A clean and minimal flat diffuser
- A ring-pattern diffuser
- A honeycomb diffuser (printed with honeycomb infill and 0 top layers, creating a unique glowing structure) Please play around with infill % to find the best look for you!
- Full-bottom diffusers for use with smaller bulbs are included
The top part of the lamp is prepared for E27 socket (40,1mm). But you can change the negative circle to the size of your need.
Each diffuser is attached with 5x3 mm magnets that are added during a print pause. Magnets are placed both in the shade and the diffuser, making it effortless to swap styles depending on mood or interior.
The lamp holder measures 24.4 mm at the screw part, which aligns perfectly with the bulb and diffuser when assembled. If your lamp holder is taller, you can simply print a spacer.
This modular design makes The Nordic Orb both practical and playful – a lamp that adapts to your space while highlighting the beauty of the glowing bulb.
