Description

This is a 3d-printed modular, flexible chain conveyor system.

This type of conveyor has a modular plastic chain that can bend left and right, up and down.

The conveyor always starts with an idler unit (where the products enter) and a drive unit (where the products exit).
In between idler and drive you can have straight beams and bends to build pretty much any combination of layouts from input to output.

This type of conveyor is very common in the manufacturing industry because it is so easy to make tight turns without any other devices than the conveyor parts themselves. Its also very easy to rebuild for new layouts.

This particular conveyor is suitable for school projects or prototypes for automation ideas. Also suitable for home projects of various kinds.

I printed Everything in PETG and I have not tried other materials. The less friction a material has the better it works.

NOTE! Print the chain in Bambulab PETG HF! It works great with low friction and low noise. I tried with Sunlu PETG at first but it is too sticky so the chain gets noisy with it. Since I have not tested many materials, I suggest you go for the one I know works.

Please check out the assembly manual and the Youtube videos to get a clear view of how this works.
In the manual I also submitted all the links to Amazon and Bambulab with all the non-3d-printed parts.

There is now a step model of the fully assembled Base Kit among the other step files.

This file is called “KE-0001 v30.step”.

If you use a CAD system it is a good idea to open this file there (or in Bambu Studio) to see how it is assembled.
