Configurable Pastern strap for hoof boots
Print Profile(1)

Description
This is a configurator for gaiters for hoof boots

The length, width, and thickness of the gaiters are configurable
as well as the position and diameter of the mounting hole
Furthermore, the size and position of the "cross-strap" can be controlled

The "Flex" option controls whether the gaiters should be made even more elastic

If _plate_hole_additional_distance_ is greater than 0, one hole each is added to the right and left
at this distance. The rear plate automatically becomes wider as a result

Currently, three variants are available for the front connection
Depending on the diameter, more or fewer holes are available in the given space

Preparation for Use
(after printing)
The cross-strap must then be glued with neoprene. Superglue works best for this. We also tried self-adhesive neoprene, but it doesn't hold permanently

And suitable neoprene tubing must still be pulled over the sides

We use https://amzn.eu/d/axa71pV
This fits very well (with some dish soap) for the dimension

If you change the width or thickness, you will probably need to look for (neoprene/EPDM) hoses with different inner diameters
If you know other sources for foam tubes in these sizes, I would be very happy to receive a comment about the source
Connection to the Hoof Boot
Then you can attach the ND-Gaiter with a screw through the lower hole

to the hoof boot. Since version 4.4, this is also possible with 2 or 3 screws
For the front connection, you need an adapter plate Nd-Plate

With the adapter plate, you can attach head rivets to your hoof boot so that the ND-Gaiter stays in place at the front

However, for the image, I have not yet attached the pads, so that the functionality can be seen better
For use on a horse, you must attach the pads

Note
The precisely fitting hoof boots and accessories from 3D printing are planned, constructed, and printed by me with the
utmost care. For months, several riders have been testing
these ND-Gaiters on their horses
Please always discuss the use of the gaiters (and hoof boots) with your (barefoot) farrier!
