Description

My previous PVC filament spool rack (here) was working just fine until I got a second AMS and needed to rearrange my setup and had to give up my long single layer spool rack for the two AMS units. I liked the looks of 3-4-5-way PVC connectors, but my ¾" (27mm) PVC wouldn't fit so set out to design something similar with multiple fitting types that would fit the pipe I had.

I wanted to do a two layer spool rack to make the best use of the limited shelf space available but keep the prints smaller than some of the other two layer spool racks available. As this is basically modular you could do 2, 3, or even 4 layers high if you wanted.

To print the two layer spool rack you will need:

4x 8" (200mm) PVC

6x 4" (100mm) PVC

4x 3" (75mm) PVC

4x 15" (380mm) PVC

Print:

4x 3 Way Fittings

4x 4 Way Fittings

4x 2 Way Fittings

For each additional layer of spool rack you will need:

Print 4x 4 Way Fittings

2x 15" (380mm) PVC

2x  4" (100mm) PVC

4x 8" (200mm) PVC

My spool rack is press fit and is stationary on my wire shelf but if you are planning on it being mobile supergluing the PVC and the fittings would be recommended. When assembling for press fit (or gluing if you choose) I recommend assembling on a flat surface or table to aid in aligning the fittings so they're squared up rather than eyeballing it.

I have included the Fusion360 file so you can modify it for smaller PVC sizes or wood dowels. When I get around to modifying the model again I will likely add a modified 3 Way Fitting with threaded inserts to thread on some casters on the bottom corners for a mobile spool rack.

Thank you for checking out my model.

Hello, didn't you make a 27mm version for the 5-way connector Another question I just printed the project and where are the 3-way T connectors of the second board used Thank you very much

I did not make a 5-way because I didn't need them -- but can make the model and add a print profile if you need a 5-way. The 3-way T fitting isn't used in the rack I setup but included in case anybody needed it for their setup. I guess I included it incase somebody was building something other than a spool rack out of 3/4" PVC.

I ended up printing the four 3-way T units, but that's fine I would love to have the 5-way piece

I guess I miss something. The holes in this fitting are 1 in. I don't mind I've only printed a couple to connectors I guess I'll have to increase the fill.

Yes, it's designed for 3/4" PVC pipe. Pipe sizes refer to their inner diameter.
