Description

Use this clip system to very securely attach elements to your Skådis / Uppspel pegboard. This design securely prevents lifting as well as downward and lateral forces and can be paired together for larger heavier objects.

Design Instructions:

You can do anything you need to the adapter plates as long as you keep the channel slots accessible and unchanged.

Print Instructions:

  1. I print the clips with 3 perimeters. 4 or more probably works even better. I haven't done a strength test of any kind because i'm afraid it will damage the peg board. They are obviously the weakest link, but they print on their side so the layer strength is in their favor.

Use Instructions

  1. Slide the clip through the mount's channel slot
  2. Press up against the Skadis board and angle the top hook through the top peg slot
  3. Slide the hook AND the mount down while pushing the clip with moderate force towards the board
  4. Once the assembly clears the top of the bottom peg slot the bottom of the clip should clip into place.

Extra rambling on:

The best part about the Skadis system is how many options you have when creating widgets that you'd like to hang from it.

I've been using the universal hook quite a bit recently (1) (2) and I think it is a great option for most as It gives you a ton of design flexibility and the hooks are quite secure.

But as I've been designing storage solutions for the family's tablets and handheld devices I felt like I needed to design something that was a bit more secure - especially when it comes to lifting forces as kids push up on a device to remove it from a hook or hanger. The Universal Hook's only downside is that without glue an upward lifting motion can rock the hook out of place. Am I overly-paranoid? yes. But my kids will find a way to drop an iPad if at all possible.
