I designed this model because I couldn’t find any commercially available child locks that worked with our midcentury cabinet. The cabinet handles are 11 inches apart, which made it tricky to find a secure solution.

This lock uses a buckle-to-close design that holds the cabinet doors shut, helping to keep curious toddlers out of places they shouldn’t be. It’s easy for adults to open and close, but secure enough to deter little hands.

This lock is meant as a child-safety aid, not a security device. It won’t stop a determined adult or prevent theft, but it should be more than enough to stop a toddler.

Key Features:

  • Designed for handles spaced ~11 inches apart
  • Buckle-to-close mechanism for secure closure
  • Works well on midcentury-style cabinets
  • Simple, tool-free install and removal

Perfect for parents looking for a practical and stylish way to toddler-proof vintage or modern furniture.
