Description

This is a versatile and sturdy filament spool holder designed to be mounted directly onto aluminum extrusion profiles, a common feature in 3D printer frames. The holder is secured using a single M8 T-slot bolt (or similar M8 bolt compatible with aluminum profiles), allowing for quick and easy installation and repositioning.

Key Features & Design

  • T-slot Mounting: The design is optimized for mounting onto 20mm series aluminum extrusions, providing a strong and reliable attachment point for your filament.
  • Dual-Length Holders: To accommodate various spool sizes, the model includes two interchangeable holder arms:
    • Short Arm (70 mm): Ideal for standard 1 kg spools.
    • Long Arm (110 mm): Perfect for larger 2 kg spools, ensuring stability and smooth feeding.
  • Spool Compatibility: The main spool holder has a diameter of 40 mm. A 48 mm flange at the end of the holder prevents the spool from sliding off. This design ensures that spools with a core diameter greater than 48 mm will fit securely.

Printing & Assembly

The model is designed for straightforward MEX printing. Print it with supports. To assemble, simply insert the M8 T-slot bolt into the base of the holder and then slide it into the channel of your aluminum extrusion. Tighten the bolt to secure the holder in place. You can then slide the appropriate-sized holder arm into the mount.

This spool holder is a great addition to any 3D printer setup, helping you keep your workspace organized and your filament feeding smoothly.
