Description
Drybox roller hub with MaxFlow Desiccant
Drybox
I got these filament storage box from aliexpress. It includes everything. Plastic Bearings, Steel rods, small dessicant bag, hygrometer, hole caps(grommet), ptfe tube. It's totally ok to use it as it is. Cheap & Efficient!
TPU printing
However, for TPU printing, minimizing spool's rolling friction is good idea. There are many external center spool holders but most of them are exposed to moisture. Even if I could find some drybox center spool holders, they are not compatible with core desiccant function. So I designed this.
Core Desiccant Container
I use ‘Max flow’ spool desiccant unit designed by ‘professional3D’, which is so wonderful! click to fix to many kinds of spools, its center hole maximises air inlet, beautifully designed and refined carefully. It's pleasing to me just to watch it. I usually keep them fixed to the spools.
Center hub
* For Maxflow for Bambulab spool
It's very lightweight(>5g). separated in 2 parts so CA glue them after printing.
‘Holed’ design to minimise airflow disturbance.
Vase mode printing by object, not by layer.
Use steel tube that came with Drybox and then bearings(two 608) too.
Supporting frame
Initially I assumed that flatside has to face outward due to the protruding part around bearing(I didn't want supports). But It's turned out to be ok either way. It works well. I'm glad at that!
Recommend to use 0.28mm layer height to emphasize surface texture. and change the sparse infill type and % as you like.
That's it. Thank you. I hope this will be useful to somebody.
