Description
Double Ball Bearing Axle for OpenRC F1 car.
Supports are required, can be printed with tree supports.
This part is required for full ball bearing suspension/steering assembly for the OpenRC F1 car. A profile with full parts plate is available to download from all of the linked parts:
- Double ball bearing servo & steering linkage x1
- Front upper ball bearing BOM x1
- Front bottom ball bearing BOM x1
- Front double ball bearing axle x2
Full assembly provides significant reduction in friction, much smoother, responsive, lock to lock steering in both directions even when using the cheapest of the servos out there like the MG90S.
- Assemble the suspension first. Using the double ball bearing axles and front/bottom BOMs.
- Secure the top front BOM to the BOM Block, do not secure the bottom BOM to the frame just yet.
- Insert the servo & steering linkage in the slot
- Secure the bottom BOM and the BOM block to the frame
- Connect steering rods to the axels.
- Connect steering rods to the servo & steering linkage. I recommend to leave slight gaps between the rods and the servo, do not tighten them hard.
Other Recommendations:
- I recommend to use this servo link to connect your servo to the servo & steering linkage. Do not tighten the parts together on neither ends to illuminate unnecessary friction.
- You can use any 8x12x3.5 mm ball bearings but here is an eBay affiliate link to some.
