Description
Articulated Sandslash (Kanto and Alolan forms)
"Curls up into a spiny ball when threatened. It can roll while curled up to attack or escape." ~Red Version Pokedex entry
“It runs across snow-covered plains at high speeds. It developed thick, sharp claws to plow through the snow.” ~Ultra Sun Pokedex entry
These poseable models show great flexibility and poseability with moveable necks, shoulders, wrists, legs, and tails!
I've always really liked Sandslash and the Alolan form gave me an excuse to play around with BambuLab's new Translucent PLA. The Alolan print turned out wonderful using Bambu's Ice Blue Matte PLA for the body and, Ice Blue Translucent PLA for the spikes.
When I design these models I always try to accurately match the Pokemon form while balancing printability, flexibility, and filament efficiency. That's why these models are printed on their flattened stomachs with some claw pieces printed on a separate plate. It's also why the faces are separated from the spike(s), fusing the two together results in a print profile with 99 filament swaps that purge 53g for a 13g piece. In my opinion that kind of printing is really only worth it if you're going to print a whole plate of them (but if that's what you want to do I've provided the fused head pieces on the last plate of the print profiles). After all parts are printed the claws and head can be glued into place.
I hope you enjoy your new desert (or tundra) buddy!
