Original project description

This is a desktop stand designed for the BiQu Panda Touch display.
While the display is normally intended to be installed directly on the printer, I’ve always found it more convenient to keep it on the desk in front of the PC or within reach when not in the same room as the working printer.

After reviewing dozens of existing projects, I decided to design my own with the following goals:

  • A clean and elegant design with simple forms that complement the look of the display.
  • The magnetic mounting bracket and USB power cable are hidden.
  • The USB cable runs through an internal channel inside the stand and exits at the back.

Design & Assembly

The stand is divided into 3 parts to minimize the need for supports (which should not be required when printing in PLA):

  1. Back Section (Panda_Touch_desk_mount-body_rear.stl)
    • Holds the mounting bracket with 4x M3x10 countersunk screws (B-AA188).
    • Two special spacers (spacer.stl) are included for the lower screws, preventing bracket flex.
  2. Front Section (Panda_Touch_desk_mount-body_front.stl)
    • Extends the footprint of the stand for greater stability.
    • Connects to the back section using two sliding joints; once fully inserted, it is secured with 2x M3x12 screws (B-AA059).
    • Includes an optional variant with the BigTreeTech logo in bas-relief, which can be conveniently printed in two colors even without AMS (Panda_Touch_desk_mount-body_front_logo.stl).
  3. Bottom Cover (Panda_Touch_desk_mount-usb_cable_cover.stl)
    • Secured with 4x M3x8 countersunk screws (B-AA086).
    • Locks the USB power cable in place.

 Printing Notes

  • Material: PLA
  • Supports: Not required (design minimizes overhangs)
  • Print Profile (PLA, two build plates, optional color print - no AMS):
    • Custom-tuned for robustness, with several per-object settings applied.
    • Provided in two build plates:
      • Plate 1: Main parts.
      • Plate 2: Two-color print of the front section with the logo.

 Files Provided

  • STL and STEP files (to allow personal adaptation).
  • Multi-part design for easy printing.
  • Two variants of the front section (plain / with logo).

This model is published under the Standard Digital File License, as required to participate in MakerWorld’s Exclusive Model Program.

Although I originally shared this project under CC-BY-SA (in line with my support for the Open Source Culture), I wanted to make sure users can still explore, adapt, and personalize the design.

For this reason, the STEP files are included and may be used for personal modifications.

 

📅 Update – 28/08/2025

Version 2 (suffix -v2)

  • Added TPU feet for improved stability and grip (right_rear / left_rear / front_TPU_pad.stl).
  • Back Section: includes two recessed areas in bas-relief designed to host TPU feet (Panda_Touch_desk_mount-body_rear-v2.stl).
  • Front Section: extended forward to align with the touchscreen surface for a cleaner, more elegant look (Panda_Touch_desk_mount-body_front-v2.stl or logo variant). Recesses for TPU feet have also been added here (feet can be glued in place).
  • Added a dedicated print profile for TPU feet (print profile: TPU pads for the V2 version).
  • Added a new PLA print profile with the updated elements (print profile: V2 improved version); the original PLA profile remains available for the first version.
  • All new modified parts are provided with the suffix -v2.

 

📅 Update – 10/10/2025

i2c Panda Sense usability upgrade (suffix -i2c)

 

This version of the desk stand is almost unchanged from the Version 2 (update 28/08/2026), except for a few updates to support the Panda Sense module:

  • The bottom cover has been modified to allow the I²C cable to exit alongside the USB cable (Panda_Touch_desk_mount-I2C_bottom_cover.stl).
  • The rear panel now includes a dedicated slot for the pogo-pin PCB supplied with the Panda Sense (Panda_Touch_desk_mount-I2C_body_rear.stl).
  • A corresponding rear opening for installation and a removable cover to close it afterward (Panda_Touch_desk_mount-I2C_rear-cover.stl).

Two M3x8 screws (B-AA058) are required to secure the pogo pin cover, unlike the original version.
The pogo pin PCB itself should be installed using the screws included in the Panda Sense kit.

 

 

As usual, the STEP files are provided along with the STL files to make personal adjustments easier.


A new print profile is provided, including three build plates to be printed in PLA, allowing you to print the complete desk stand — either in the plain version or with the colored embossed logo, even without AMS (print profile: New upgraded model with Panda Sense usability).
