Honda VTX1800c Gas Cap Hinge

For those of you that have a Honda VTX I am sure you have run into the same issue I have at least once a week...The factory gas cap does not have a hinge. I decided to Design a hinge mechanism that should work for most of the VTX's. There is a picture in the listing of overall dimensions so you are able to verify fitment. You may mount it how ever you'd like. I decided to go a less permanent route and use Gorilla double sided tape since the part is ABS plastic and although durable with good heat tolerance, things happen. 

Instructions:

1) Apply double sided tape to the bottom of the part. Please see the blue sections in last picture to see where to apply tape.

2) Hinge the part to 90 degrees and press the side that will sit on the the gas cap and hold for 30 seconds.

3) You can now lower the smaller end of the part onto the bezel and press for 30 seconds. 

4) Once both sides have been stuck to the bezel and gas cap you are all done. 

1) To open your gas cap first unlock the gas cap

2) Lift vertically

3) Once lifted you can start to rotate and gently rest the gas cap on the hinge.

4) Seating your gas cap (with new hinge installed) back to lock position will require above steps in reverse order
