Introduction
The Dakar rally is an over two week long endurance race with a total length of up to 8000km. Introduced in 2022, the Hilux T1+ is a purpose-built rally truck built for the Dakar rally. By 2025 it has certainly proven itself, having won the Dakar rally 3 times and the World Rally Raid Championship twice. The name T1+ is the new class for the Dakar rally updated from the old T1 in 2022, updating regulations around tire size, suspension and body width.

Model info
The kit card assembles into a multi-color 1:50 scale model of the Hilux T1+ with a functional double wishbone suspension. The model is split into three segments + brakelights that can be printed separately in different colors even without a multi material system. Once printed the segments can be combined into one card, I recommend inserting the brakelights into the card before assembly. The files include a body with an embossed GR text or just a plain body, whichever you prefer.
The suspension arms are tight and might need a bit of wiggling before they break free. The suspension and tire tolerances are tighter than my previous models, so please let me know if you have any issues or see any areas of improvement.

How I designed this
This model was made from scratch entirely in blender using blueprints, a sub-d and guide process and way too many booleans.
I used PureRef as a reference board and things like the instruction card, photos and video were done in adobe illustrator, photoshop and premiere.
The suspension definitely took the longest to get right with a lot of prototypes, it’s still not perfect but It’s good enough.
