Description

This is the first FDM-printable 1:64 scale excavator, inspired by the JCB 245XR.

Constructor 1/64 Series – Fully Functional Excavator

This model is part of the Constructor 1/64 Series, a lineup of realistic, FDM-printable construction equipment designed for both play and display.

The model is fully functional, with moving cylinders, tracks, boom, and bucket, designed to replicate real excavator motion at a compact scale.

Durability was a top priority during development. The design has been tested by real kids—two young boys played with early versions, and multiple improvements were made to strengthen high-stress areas. The result is a model sturdy enough for careful play, while still detailed enough for display.

No AMS required.

Assembly is simple

You will need

x8 M2 10mm bolts

x3 M2 8mm bolts

x7 M2 12mm bolts

x1 M2 16mm bolts

x18 M2 Nuts

x16 M2 Washers

Lock-tight/super-glue

I used this M2 kit off of Amazon

https://a.co/d/7KCrsB9

It was painted with Tamiya spray and then polished. Two battery-powered micro LEDs were applied to the front

This was a bit difficult for me to assemble by the pictures alone but it turned out great. Thank you, I look forward to any construction equipment you post next!

Awesome series of models, every boost is very deserved. Easy to print and assemble with some clever and functional design. Never planned on printing many models with my printers, but it was too cool not to. PLA, 85A TPU tracks, chrome paint marker on the cylinder rods. I work for Hitachi so I painted the main body up in Bambu Studio to more closely resemble a ZX135

Thanks, whatever gets the most requests I’ll work on. This model has lots of small parts it would be good to not leave a very young child unattended with it.
