Own seal in the pond or in a swimming pool

🔄 Sand Update / Weight Optimization

I have recently printed a second harbor seal and optimized the filling process.

To make adjusting the weight much easier, I used small zip-lock / freezer bags (4x6 cm) to hold the sand. This offers three great advantages:

1. Precise Weight Control: It’s much easier to weigh out the exact amount of sand beforehand.
2. Clean Threads: No more sand getting stuck in the screw threads, making it a breeze to unscrew and screw the cap back on.
3. Stay Dry: It keeps the sand completely dry inside, providing an extra layer of protection and preventing it from clumping up.

Highly recommended if you want a clean and hassle-free assembly!

🔄 Waterproofing update:  The number of wall lines has now been increased from 2 to 6, and I've added ASA and ABS as materials. This means the seal is now 100% waterproof and will stay permanently afloat! 🦭⚓

Look at this beautiful seal; you just can't resist it.

 

Print/cut and assembly instructions
1. Print first the seal with the color grey and black and use ASA or ABS , is better as PETG, PLA for outside
2. Then cut 80mm strips from a TPU 95A roll, preferably in black or white.
3. And finally, fill the recess halfway with sand so that the seal has better stability in the water

I created the “Seal” in Blender and printed it with a Bambu A1 AMS and I used the following filament and the print profiles, without any issue.

- Sunlu Matte PETG – black and grey
- OVERTURE TPU 95A – black
