Description

This is a simple drink coaster, in preparation for Super Bowl 2024! Go Niners!

Print with 4 colors, red / gold (or yellow) / black / white. There's an optional plane + foot variant, which is to print a base in e.g. TPU or TPE, for non-slip coasters. Glue these on to the base with holes. The little pegs are for alignments.

I’ve also added a caddy which should hold up to 8 100mm coasters.

Really nice design. Had to adjust quite a few things in the print profile to make it print nicely on an X1C. edit: Printed a set as a house gift for the person holding the neighborhood Super Bowl party today, they’re a huge hit!!! Raised rating :)

What did you have to change? I printed that profile on an X1C as well.

Nice to see you respond :) The bottom shell was coming out with 0 layers so it was showing the infill. I bumped it up to 4 layers and dropped the top shell to 3. The top shell was also printing super slow as if it were the first layer. It almost seemed like the top and bottom shell settings were reversed 🤷‍♂️ Maybe you flipped them on their pretty face after setting up your print profile and didn’t upload the one with your top and back trim shell changes? I also made a few other tweaks to make it print a bit faster where it seemed appropriate in my profile, but I don’t think those really really have much impact on the quality or strength of the coasters. The 3 coasters printed nicely in about 1.5 hours on standard speed and a little less than an hour on insane or whatever the fastest setting on the printer is called. The gold layer on the stand came out a bit funky on the edges, but I think that’s my fault and I just needed to calibrate max volumetric flow for that filament. Pic attached. I’ll upload my print profile for it after the game today, or tomorrow if the Super Bowl party goes on too late so you can see what I did. It’ll have my gcode edits in it to pull back filament 20mm before cutting when swapping filament for reducing the amount of material purged, so you’ll see the warning about custom gcode. If you’re worried about it, view the gcode changes in my print profile and you’ll see exactly what it does :)

Yeah, it seemed odd after seeing your pictures that the bottom shell/layer would have come out the way it did…

Nice! Did you use the profile I uploaded? Seems some people have had problems with it but I’m not sure what it could be yet. Go niners!

Worked fine! In my special case I had to add some 3D-Milk to get first layer properly

Where do I find this option. “There's an optional plane + foot variant, which is to print a base in e.g. TPU or TPE, for non-slip coasters. Glue these on to the base with holes. The little pegs are for alignments.” only coasters and holder are present
