If the grips slip on the hook cover the tip contact face with a small piece of electrical tape or even better 3M safety tape. 
Or you can print them in TPU, that will give it more flexibility and grip around the shank, that should work as well

In order to assemble the vise you will need
2 M4 Bolts atleast 10mm long
1 M5 Bolt atleast 10mm long

3 M4 nuts
1 Pen Spring
2 5mm ball bearings or printable equivalent, I used neodynimium magnets since I had some laying around and they worked great.
