Description

Why settle for a hexagon when you can have a pentagon, an octagon, or even a 32-sided spinner? Introducing the Ultimate Polygon Spinner, a print-in-place toy that you can customize

!

This model allows you to customize everything from the number of sides to the overall size and feel. Create a small, tight pentagon spinner or a large, loose 20-sided disc—the choice is yours. It prints as a single piece, no assembly or supports required, and comes off the build plate ready to spin!

Key Features

  • 🎨 Fully Parametric: You are the designer! Easily change the number of sides (ShapeSides), number of rings (NumberOfRings), thickness, and gaps to create a truly unique fidget toy.
  • 🪄 True Print-in-Place: The magic of 3D printing! The model is printed in one piece with all rings interlocked. No assembly needed—just remove it from the plate and start spinning.
  • 💼 Free Commercial License: Yes, you read that right! You are free to sell the printed versions of this model. Go ahead and add your unique creations to your online store or sell them at local markets.

Settings Guide: Make It Your Own!

To customize your spinner click on the Customize Button.

Main Dimensions

  • TotalHeight: Sets the overall thickness of the spinner from top to bottom. A smaller value like 8 makes it slim and sleek, while a larger value like 15 makes it chunkier and easier to grip.
  • CenterHoleRadius: Controls the size of the hole in the middle.

Ring & Shape Count

  • NumberOfRings: Determines how many concentric rings your spinner will have. Fewer rings (e.g., 15) create a smaller, more compact fidget. More rings (e.g., 30) create a larger, more impressive spinner with more movement.
  • ShapeSides: This is the fun part! It sets the number of sides for the polygon.
    • 5 = Pentagon
    • 6 = Hexagon (the classic)
    • 8 = Octagon
    • 32 = Nearly a circle!

Ring Properties

  • RingWallThickness: Changes how thick the wall of each individual ring is. A thicker wall makes the spinner feel more solid and durable.

Variable Ring Gap

  • DesiredInnerGap: The space between the first five rings near the center. A smaller number here (like 0.6mm) makes the center feel tighter.
  • DesiredOuterGap: The space between all the remaining outer rings. A larger number here (like 1.0mm) lets the outer rings move more freely, loosely, and with more jingle.
  • Be careful with this setting…set this too low and the rings might fuse together during printing! But also if yopu set to high the rings could come apart from rach other.

Slope Settings

  • LockingSlope: This controls the steepness of the internal angle that locks the rings together. A larger value creates a more pronounced "V" shape, which can create a more satisfying tactile feel and sound. The default value is a great starting point.

Geometric Tolerances (Advanced)

  • PrintToleranceHelper: This is a background setting that helps the software render the model correctly. You can safely ignore this one! The default is perfect for 99% of prints.

Printing Guidance

  • 🧼 Start with a Clean Build Plate! This is the most important step. For a successful print-in-place model, excellent first-layer adhesion is critical. The base of the spinner is made of many individual rings that need to stick perfectly. Please make sure your build plate is clean and free of oils or dust. A quick wipe with warm water and soap or isopropyl alcohol (IPA) is highly recommended.
  • Filament: PLA works perfectly (Silk or multicolor PLA looks incredible!). PETG will also work for a more durable feel.
  • Layer Height: 0.20mm (Standard)
  • Supports: None required.
