This is a simple, reliable spool holder designed for top mounting onto a 2020 V-slot rail, or any larger profile such as 4040 or 4020.

🛠️ Design Notes

The holder is designed to use a 50 mm diameter sewer pipe as the central spool axle.
For those who prefer not to use plumbing components in their printer setup, I’ve included a printable version of the pipe section as an alternative 😉

📦 Bill of Materials (BOM)

• 2× Printed supports
• 1× Pipe (choose one):
  • 50 mm diameter sewer pipe (approx. 10 cm straight section)
  • Printed pipe section (included)
• 6× M5 × 20 mm bolts
• 6× M5 flat washers
• 6× M5 T-slot nuts
• 1× Cotter pin (or wire/nail, approx. 9 cm long)

🧹 Post-Processing Instructions

• Remove any burrs from printed parts
• Drill all holes to 5 mm diameter
• If using a sewer pipe:
  • Adjust the spacing between supports to allow a few millimeters of play for the spool
  • Once supports are mounted, drill a cross-hole through the pipe for the cotter pin
