Concept & Design

This is my design for the Mecha Pokémon Series – Mimikyu Bust.
In this work, I reimagined Mimikyu by merging its eerie, disguised cuteness with bold armored lines, giving it a new sense of identity in the world of mecha.

While its familiar Pikachu-like silhouette remains, the addition of angular plating and mechanical details transforms it into a mysterious yet formidable figure—creating a striking balance between innocence and power.

Engineering & Printability

From a technical perspective, the model was carefully engineered with printability and structural integrity in mind.
To make support removal easier and avoid damaging the delicate skirt area, the design was separated into two parts: the base and the main body.

This approach not only improves overall print quality but also allows hobbyists of different skill levels to achieve a clean and accurate result—without frustration.

Display & Customization

The bust is perfect for display, collection, and painting customization.

• Unpainted: the armored lines and mechanical textures stand out beautifully on their own.
• Painted: the bust can take on an entirely different personality—whether you emphasize its ghostly presence with pale tones, or enhance its armored aesthetic with metallic finishes.

It offers limitless creative possibilities for both casual collectors and experienced model painters.

Ultimately, this Mecha Mimikyu Bust brings together the charm of the original Pokémon with futuristic mechanical styling, combined with thoughtful 3D printing optimization.

I started learning 3D modeling and uploading my own original creations over two years ago — back when AI modeling tools weren’t even fully developed yet. During this time, I’ve had the joy of seeing some of my works win awards and receive love from the community. Every piece I make carries my time, effort, and passion.

That’s why it hurts a little to hear people dismiss all that with just one sentence — “It’s AI-generated.”
