Multi-Cable Snap-Lock Clamp
Print Profile(1)

Description
These models are for a Multi-Cable Snap-Lock Clamp designed specifically for flat type Romex wire. Two of the models are larger and intended for 10-3, 10-2, 12-3, 12-2, 14-3 and 14-2. It can also be used for many other types of cables such as Cat-5, coax or telephone. The other 2 are smaller and intended for Romex 12-2 and 14-2 as well as Cat-5, coax or telephone. For each of the large and small models, I've included a separate model for nail mount and another for screw mount for the main support hardware. I recommend a nail or screw for the main support hardware that is at least 1 ½ inches long. All 4 models provide an optional second mounting screw hole for a dry-wall screw. I recommend using the optional dry wall screw as it will prevent the clamp from warping over time and will provide additional support. These are intended to be mounted directly to studs in attic spaces, crawl ways between upstairs and downstairs or below bottom-floor crawl spaces. The built-in Snap Lock gate quickly and easily secures all cables. These are similar to the Gardner Bender cable clamps available at your local hardware store.
I do not recommend printing in PLA as PLA isn't durable enough and will break down over time. PETG, ASA or ABS would be good choices. The model prints well without supports. I recommend 4 or more wall loops and an infill percentage of 25% or more for strength.
Note: This is not a fidget toy. Numerous flexes of the hinge will eventually cause it to fail. The design is robust enough to handle it's intended use with adequate number flexes. Also, you may notice some warpage of the print depending on the type of filament used which could affect the performance of the clamping mechanism to lock in place. Using both screws or nails to mount will eliminate the warpage and ensure the locking mechanism works overtime.
