Reimagined Key as a Magnetic Tool - “MultiBit”
This design reinvents the traditional key into bit Magnetic storage a 5-in-1 functional multi-tool.
Instead of being just a plain key, it becomes a 1 but driver, and it securely stores multiple standard 1/4" screwdriver bits magnetically attached inside the body, turning the key into a compact portable toolkit.
With dual sockets, onboard bit storage, and a keychain / lanyard hole, it strikes the perfect balance of organization, functionality, and minimal design — showing how a simple key can truly evolve beyond its original role.
This model now has 2 versions:
1. Requires 3 magnets 6x2mm , can store 3 bits
2. Second print profile:
| Print Profile 1 | Magnetic Storage + Extra Socket - Larger tolerances, - Magnet-ready (uses 3 magnets 6x2mm ) - An additional socket - Can store up to 3 bits |

| Print Profile 2 Experimental profile | Experimental profile Friction-Fit - Tight tolerance - 3 Sockets (Bits could be stored without magnet but it will be harder to slide a bit in and out) - Slot for the Key (Key cover on one side) This version does not require magnets. | ![]()

Instructions for Print Profile 1:
- Insert a D6x2mm round magnet into the socket (press-fit or glue). I recommend adding a dab of glue.
Here is the placement of magnets for each os 3 sockets:

- Insert your 1/4" screwdriver bit, and you’re ready to go.

Features:
- 2 Philips screwdriver sockets (one with 90-degree Bit Driver)
- Storage for 3 standard 1/4" bits
- Magnetically attached bits for secure storage (D6x2mm round magnet)
- Integrated keychain/lanyard hole for portability
- Compact and minimalist design for everyday carry
- Fidget - when bits snap to the magnet they make a very satisfying sound
Recommended Print Settings:
- Layer height: 0.2mm
- Infill: 30–50% for strength
- Material: PLA / PETG / ABS (PETG or ABS recommended for durability)
- No supports needed
Instructions for Print Profile 2:
- After printing insert bit's into respective slots. As mentioned before, fit is tight, so it could be a bit harder to slide them in and out. but it holds then in place well.
- Slide the Key into the Key Slot on the Opposite side of the bit storage and push it until it stops. (I have tested in only on 2 key version i had on hand. so it might not be compatible with all key types of keys.)
- To secure the key in place even more, you can feed it trough the keychain for example. (But slot is designed in a way so that it would be hard to key to fall of easily)
If you have any feedback , let me know i will try to improve the design to best of my abilities
