SSD1322 OLED case for the train departure display
Print Profile(1)

Description
I’m fairly new to 3D printing, but when I came across Chris Crocker-White’s brilliant Train Departure Display, I knew I had to have one on my desk. The only thing I wasn’t keen on was the original case design, so I decided to create my own.
What I wanted from the case:
- A mount that could easily attach to my monitor arm
- No need to solder wires straight away, so I could keep the build flexible
- Easy access to the MicroUSB power port
What I built:
- A case with a female GoPro mount built into the arm, giving me multiple mounting options (I’m using a GoPro ¼” adapter connected to a magic arm and clamp)
- Jumper wires to connect the Pi to the OLED, kept short and tidy so they’re barely visible (apart from in these photos)
- An off-centre arm placement that neatly passes over the MicroUSB port, making cable routing simple and practical
What you’ll need:
- A 3D printer (I used a Bambu A1 Mini with Black Matte PLA)
- 8 × M2 6mm self-tapping screws (don’t forget washers for the screws fixing the display)
Next steps:
I’m working on an alternative version for those who’d prefer to solder the wires and keep everything fully enclosed inside the case.
