Description
Table Leg Riser
SIZE - By default, this table leg riser slips snugly on a 1.75" x 1.75" square table leg, BE SURE YOU MEASURE YOUR LEG ACCURATELY and scale accordingly. It has a 3-inch deep pocket so that it is very stable on the leg and does not wobble when slipped on. By default, the total rise added to the table is 4".
SCALING - You can scale this up or down on any axis to meet your dimensional requirements. For example, I have used the same model on a 3" x 3" x 2" rise leg simply by scaling each axis accordingly.
STRENGTH - The model holds up fine even with just PLA. I was not concerned about anything but strength under vertical load and if the table is slid across the floor so I set this to 4 walls and 15% 3d honeycomb infill and it is VERY strong. I also set the top and bottom shells to 10, which MIGHT be unnecessary, but some existing legs may have small nubs on them, creating very high pressure points that could break through, so I figured better safe than sorry. And for the bottom, I wanted more layers for scrub / Wear resistance when sliding the table around on the floor. I printed with a 0.4 nozzle and at 0.24 layer height but I did use variable layer height for appearance on the radiused edges.
SUPPORTS - It DOES need supports. The profile is set to use Support PLA for the interface; it works extremely well and releases easily and cleanly.
NOTE - I added a nub at the bottom to keep the contact pattern with the floor reasonable. I added the colors/materials in the build list that I have successfully printed this model with, which are in use and are strong and holding up well.
