Description

All the existing checkers I could find online either did not have the traditional stacking ridges or the ridges were too small for my printer to print them successfully. So I designed my own with larger ridges that print easily. It's a standard 38mm diameter and 9mm tall, but you can scale it as needed and the ridges should still work the same.

They print on their edge because I was having issues bridging cleanly on the bottom of the piece when printing it flat. This requires a small brim, but it can be cleaned up with some sanding tools after printing.

These look awesome! I'm seriously glad that people figured out a clean way to print these lying down, I'm fairly new to 3D printing still and spent a bunch of time trying to do it before giving up on it and just printing them standing. Please feel free to publish a new profile lying down for others!

Best Design on Makerworld! A classic piece with stackable interlocking features. I modified this design a bit to print flat, my OCD did not want a textured flat spot, nor did i want to post process these. I painted supports just in the center pocket. I also made this pocket deeper to accomodate a press-fit King icon to cover the supported surface for a clean finished look. The small pockets in-between the stacking ribs was small enough for the printer to bridge the gap. The original design was scaled down so the final piece was about 1" in diameter. I can share my print profile if you don't mind. Thanks!

printed 1 of 12 to see what post processing would entail. I did not liked the flat spot from printing in this orientation. I uploaded a profile for printing flat. love how these stack tho!

It's funny, I spent a bunch of time trying to get a flat profile to work initially but gave up because the supports were such a pain to remove. I agree with you that the flat spot from printing upright is annoying though, so if you found some print settings that work flat and removes it that's awesome!

Awesome print. Printing flat eliminated the need to do any post printing clean up that makes this a fast and easy print

The brims are kind of a pain, but I think they'll work great 👍
